  • There are close to 92 million smartphones in use in The United States today.

Many business owners are starting to realize the potential that mobile advertising offers them to increase their website traffic, customer base and sales. Mobile advertising can include:

  • SMS Text Messaging: SMS or short message service has been increasing in popularity. This marketing is done by sending text messages to consumers who opt-in to receive special coupons, discounts and other forms of advertising. Retail stores can send basic text messages, video messages or picture advertising.
  • Proximity Marketing: Proximity marketing allows businesses to use Bluetooth equipment to market to consumers mobile devices that are within a certain area of their business. An example would be if your business is in a strip mall, you can send advertising to those consumers who are within that specific area at the time.
  • Mobile Website Design: If your business doesn’t have a mobile website design, consumers will have difficulty viewing your website from their mobile devices. This will lead to frustration on their part, and the majority of them will go elsewhere. A mobile website needs to be specifically designed to properly work on a mobile device.
